North Knox Primary conducts a school - wide Title 1 program. All children are eligible to receive Title 1 remedial services. The Title 1 program at the primary level employs 2 certified teachers and 5 instructional assistants. Mrs. Amy Decker serves students through a pull - out program focused on building skills in Reading, Writing, Spelling, Language Arts, and Mathematics. A Reading Recovery program with a certified reading specialist, Mrs. Amy Sloan works with individual students on reading and organizes literacy groups for all 1st Grade students. The following instructional assistants provide extra support to students in the primary classrooms: Mrs. Aleah Adams, Mrs. Kelli Kolarick, and Mrs. Kathy Mackey
